I love my computer

I love this machine so much I want to throw it off of the balcony. Every once in a while it has been completely locking up on me. Of course it hasn't been happening with any reliability, so if I were to take it in to a tech shop they would return it with no trouble found more than likely. Also, I can be relatively certain on my own that this is a hardware problem of some sort; the issue has been persistent across three separate clean OS installations. I'm pretty sure the RAM is okay, I ran diagnostic software on it and didn't have any issues reported. I'm pretty sure the Hard drives are okay, I've ran full manufacturers diagnostics on all of them and found no issues. I'm pretty sure the power supply is good. I have it behind a high quality surge protector/UPS and it is a high quality device -- clean power. This leaves my Video card, processor, and my motherboard. Processors don't fail very often, and I'm not an overclocker, so that's not likely to be the issue. The motherboard is all solid state good quality caps and was well reviewed when it came out... I hope it's not the problem. This leaves the video card. I know the heat sink had some dust in it, but the fan was still spinning (The dust is cleaned out now); and I did work it pretty hard when I had the Linux installation running folding on the GPU. Hmm. Should I replace the video card in hopes that that's the issue, or limp along and save up for a new computer?
